A series of very important skills are also reinforced in the development of the student with Down syndrome, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communication and language skills. It is not a matter of teaching grammar, but rather that the sentences are in a functional context that serves him to communicate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Interpersonal and social skills. Ability to maintain relationships with others. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Personal skills in relation to one&#039;s own autonomy. Of a more psychological nature: ability to act, to make decisions, to work alone (with verbal support or not), to imagine yourself capable of fending for yourself. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Adaptive skills in relation to social autonomy linked to the person&#039;s active participation in their environment. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The work of these capacities ensures us higher levels of generalization in other contexts. The technique used with the puppets is that of the table. Puppets that are manipulated on the table and held directly with the hands. The seller puppet, asks questions and forces the buyer puppet to use denials, assertions and demands; the buyer puppet answers questions and uses language to make demands,\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b>PROCEDURES<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The teacher tells the story with puppets.<\/p>\n<p>Once the story has been told, the student acts it out by manipulating the puppets together with the teacher.<\/p>\n<p>After this individual work with the student, the activity is repeated with the whole class. Each student takes on the role of a puppet, bearing in mind that in each session the role taken on must vary, that is to say, rotating turns will be used.<\/p>\n<p><b>Once you have worked individually with the student with special educational needs, it is important to carry out the activities with the rest of the class as well, as this helps to boost their self-esteem and strengthen their security.<\/b><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>TIMING<\/b><b>&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The sessions will last one hour, once a week for a term.
