SHADOW TALE with Middle School students

LA CUQUETA DE LLUM

Why didn't the light bulb want to go flying around?
night and show its wonderful light? The moon has a part of the
guilt, but thanks to this story, our little friend will learn that
each must shine with his own light.

This was and is not a community of light worms that lived inside a giant lamps,
one of the most majestic and ancient trees in Thailand. Every night, when
everything was getting dark and only the soft murmur of a nearby river could be heard,
all the worms of light came out of the tree to show the world theirs
magnificent sparkle. They played drawing shapes with light, and danced
to the sound of invented music in order to create an infinity of
bright sparks that were brighter than any other
fireworks show.

Among all the light worms of the lamps, however, there was a very small one who did not like to fly.

"No, I don't want to go flying today, either," she said every day
cuqueta de llum-. Go away, I'm fine here at home.

So much
her parents as well as her grandparents, siblings and friends waited with
I'm excited for the night to come so I can leave the house and shine in the
darkness. They were having such a good time that they didn't understand why
light did not want to go with them. They insisted on him once, again, and again
more, but there was no way. The dim light always refused.

-I don't want to go out! he always repeated. Look how heavy you are!
The whole colony of light worms was very worried about her little companion.
"We have to do something about it," her mother complained. She can't always stay home alone, without going out with us.
"Don't worry so much, woman," her father consoled her. You will see how any of these days comes out with us.
But the days went by and the light bulb was still locked in his room.
One
night, when all the light worms had flown out, the grandmother of the
Cuqueta approached him and asked him very carefully:

-What's wrong with you, my love? Why don't you ever come with us to shine in the dark?
"I don't like to fly," replied the little girl.
-But why don't you like to fly or show off your wonderful light? insisted Grandmother.
-So…
explained the little bed of light at last. That's what I have to go out for
if I can never shine as bright as the moon. The moon is big, and a lot
brilliant, and I by his side am nothing. I'm as small as I am
comparison I look like just a small spark. That’s why I always stick to
home, because I will never be able to shine as brightly as the moon.

Grandmother had listened intently to her granddaughter's reasons, and replied:
-Ai,
my daughter! There's one thing you should know, but
after what you've told me, you don't seem to know. If at least
you go out from time to time, you would have discovered it, but as you always do
stay in the tree, because you don't know.

-What is this I don't know and should know? asked the bed of light impatiently.
-Has
to know that the moon doesn't have the same light every night
answer the grandmother-. The moon is so variable that every day is different. Hi
there are days when she is as big and majestic as a ball, and she shines without plowing
in the sky. But there are others that are hidden, the quarrel disappears and the
world is completely in the dark.

-Are there really nights when the moon doesn't rise? the bed of light asked in surprise.
-I
so much so that her grandmother confirmed it. The moon is very changing. De
sometimes it grows and sometimes it gets small. There are nights that are big and
red, and others disappear behind the clouds. Instead you, love
my, you will always shine with the same strength and you will always do it with yours
own light.

The dim light was blown away
discovery. I had never imagined that the moon could change and that
shine and hide depending on the days.

And from that day on, the
Cuqueta de Luz decided to go flying and dancing with her family
and his friends. That's how our friend went
learn that everyone has their qualities and that therefore everyone has
to shine with its own light.
