animatronics: Remotely manipulated puppets, sometimes controlled by computer and sometimes with electronic cables.

Automata: They are puppets that are operated by mechanical elements. You don't always need the manipulator for them to wiggle.

Ventriloquist puppets: Ventriloquism,
the art of throwing the voice, that is to say, that whoever speaks does so in such a way
that the sound seems to come from a distance or from a different source than what
is talking Normally, the ventriloquist – keeps his lips tightly together,
almost without moving them – use a puppet to keep the attention of the
audience and increase the illusion that the character is the one speaking.
When not using the puppet, the ventriloquist uses some object that,
usually waves, to attract our attention while he speaks and
manages to give the illusion it wants.

Based on
These main techniques can be used to create mixed puppets. For
example, a glove puppet whose arm is manipulated with a stem, etc
