I communicate with the puppets

Puppets are special. Pedagogical suitcase
I COMMUNICATE WITH THE PUPPETS
Level: Early Childhood Education and Primary Education
Disorder: Everyone
Technique: Glove puppet
This activity is designed to give total freedom to the teacher while using the puppets. It is a classroom resource that can be used whenever the teacher deems it appropriate.
These puppets allow you to create a playful atmosphere in the classroom to energize the chosen learning at any given time. They are also suitable for working on language issues, as they have an articulated mouth.
They can be used in both the special education classroom and the regular classroom.
The chosen technique allows to work any content, as it has a very simple and very effective manipulation. The puppet tradition is an oral tradition. Improvisation is very important. The keys to improvisation are listening to others and not talking while others do.
In the teaching guide you will find a list of topics to be able to improvise with puppets and students.
TEACHING GUIDE
MASTER'S PUPPETS
I COMMUNICATE WITH THE PUPPETS
Level: Early Childhood Education and Primary Education
Area: All
Disorder: Everyone
TARGETS
  • Encourage classroom activities.
  • Act as a mediator in learning.
  • Keep an eye on classroom activities.
  • Work on language difficulties.
  • Encourage the correct use of students' language.
CONTENTS
  • The puppet as a working tool.
  • The language you use in each level.
METHODOLOGY
The teacher or students must name each puppet.
To stimulate the activities of the class and to act as a mediator in the learning, the puppet says things to the teacher's ear and he transmits it to the students.
To work on the language, the teacher speaks through the puppet.
Things to keep in mind when handling puppets:
  • The teacher must change his voice when the puppet speaks.
  • The teacher must always look at the puppet when the puppet is speaking.
These two rules are basic to giving credibility to the action.
Later students can also grab the puppets and talk through them. They can be used in both the special education classroom and the regular classroom.
In addition to the topics that the teacher wants to address, students can improvise with the puppets. Students should be given five minutes to prepare for the improvisation.
